Born 1948 in Stip, Macedonia. Graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1975 in the class of Prof. Stojan Chelich. As a scholarship holder of the French Government studied at Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in the class of Prof. Pierre Mathey from 1979-1981. Worked as a teacher for painting and drawing in the School of Applied Arts in Skopje Macedonia. Many of his paintings, graphics, and drawings are placed in the Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Gallery in Skopje (Macedonia), Bulgaria and Yugoslavia. He is placed in the "Art Encyclopedia of Yugoslavia" in 1987 ,the "Anthology" of Macedonian Art 1894-1994 (1994 edition), in the book by Dr. Boris Petkovski "Studies For Modern Macedonian Art" (2001 edition), "Macedonia Yesterday and Today" by Jovan Pavlovski and Mishel Pavlovski and recently Manev work has been placed in the new catalog that was made from the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, Macedonia.
Moreover, a lot of his artwork is placed in the Ministers offices, Government, many Macedonian Embassies around the world, National library in Skopje, private and national companies. Many Private collections of artworks of Dimitar Manev are held in Macedonia, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, and United States.
Today Dimitar Manev lives in United States of America and continues to produce new work.
